Psychedelic Rock did well to win around here two weeks ago and has not been unduly penalised for that. Track and ground are both to his liking and he is fit and well so the hat-trick is very much on the cards.

03/05/21 – 1st 6/4 – Corbulo – Brian Meehan – Bath
Corbulo did very well to win around here on his return to action and was unlucky not to follow up at Nottingham, getting rather too far behind but finishing well. That was also the style of his previous win and if George can keep him in contention, that finishing effort could be decisive again.

02/05/21 – 2nd 11/1 – Rosemary And Thyme – Hughie Morrison – Salisbury
Rosemary And Thyme got off the mark nicely at Lingfield where Hollie gave the filly a very good ride. They team up again in a very different class of race but she has no weight and weight brings horses of widely-differing abilities closer together. We'll find out a lot about her today.

02/05/21 – 1st 12/1 – Walls Of Kano – Brian Meehan – Salisbury
I was delighted with Walls Of Kano's recent debut effort at Newbury and he's been working very well since that race. Basically he's a nice horse and I think the drop back to seven furlongs will also be to his benefit. Great chance.

01/05/21 – 1st 13/2 – Dawndiva – Brian Meehan – Goodwood
Dawndiva is a very good filly. She ran exceptionally well on her only start last year when the heavy ground will not have helped her. I think she has a very good chance in this competitive maiden race.

01/05/21 – 1st 85/40 – Ship of The Fen – Ian Williams – Doncaster
Ship Of The Fen has been gradually coming back to form after his year lay-off. His mark has dropped a few pounds and in a tricky four-runner race he is not without a chance.

30/04/21 – 1st 4/1 – Captain Cattistock – Fergal O’Brien – Cheltenham
I think this marathon trip is made for Captain Cattistock who we bought for Albi to ride from the David Maxwell part-disposal. The big danger could be Kilkishen a horse we also "bought" for Albi but he failed the vet. He subsequently won nicely for his new connections so it will be a bit of…

30/04/21 – 1st 9/1 – Marsabit – Hughie Morrison – Goodwood
I know Marcus Tregoning is bullish about Tasfeeq. I've been interested in that horse ever since I tried to buy him at the yearling sales but I didn't have as much money as Sheikh Hamdan! Marsabit does have an engine as he showed when winning at Kempton. If he repeats that and improves the 6lb…

29/04/21 – 1st 15/2 – The Retriever – Micky Hammond – Southwell
The Retriever does well on Southwell's Fibresand and has run three good races there this year after a course and distance victory in November. The handicapper seems to have just about got his measure but hopefully today from a good draw he can give our promising 7lb claiming apprentice Aiden Brookes a decent chance of…

29/04/21 – 2nd 5/2 – Surrey Gold – Hughie Morrison – Lingfield
I had Surrey Gold primed for a run on the Flat but then the drought started and the ground everywhere was too firm. So we decided to cut and run to the all-weather and ironically we got half an inch of unpredicted rain here yesterday and another inch is forecast for Bank Holiday Monday. The…

29/04/21 – 1st 11/1 – Mandoob – Brian Meehan – Lingfield
Mandoob has been a late developer but he goes nicely and we took him down to Lingfield for a barrier trial a few weeks ago and he pleased me. The front two in the betting have useful form and the benefit of experience but we're not going there just to make the numbers up.

28/04/21 – 1st 5/1 – The Resdev Way – Micky Hammond – Wolverhampton
The Resdev Way will be ridden I expect with more restraint. He had experience of the course with his previous trainer and I'm sure he'll handle it as it's not too dissimilar from what he trains on at Middleham. I'm not expecting either to win but both should be thereabouts at the finish. That said,…

27/04/21 – 2nd 6/1 – King Of Clubs – Hughie Morrison – Nottingham
King Of Clubs has the greater experience of our two runners and drops back in trip after his fifth over ten furlongs last time. He hasn't taken either of his races too well so we've given him time since his latest. He may just need the run but would probably be competitive if he does…

26/04/21 – 1st 8/11 – Stay Well – Hughie Morrison – Windsor
We like Stay Well. He had some issues after his nice Doncaster run last autumn. We've been happy with his progress this spring although thanks to the very dry spell I've not done as much as I would have liked on grass but overall it would be very disappointing if he didn't win today.

26/04/21 – 2nd 11/1 – Gauntlet – William Knight – Windsor
Gauntlet was bought out of Aidan O'Brien's yard. He's a Galileo half-brother to Arc winner Danedream and goes nicely. Obviously the favourite brings decent form to the table so it will be interesting to see where we fit in conceding so much weight to the three-year-olds.

25/04/21 – 1st 100/30 – Sulochana – Hughie Morrison – Salisbury
Sundays are no longer quiet for trainers. Three runners today at Salisbury and declarations for the five meetings on Tuesday and all the difficulties that entails with trying to book suitable jockeys now they no longer can ride at more than one meeting a day. What we do mostly is just wait for the agents…

25/04/21 – 3rd 33/1 – Haymaker – Hughie Morrison – Salisbury
Haymaker is a nice colt by Muhaarar who cost 40k - not 4,000 as the Racing Post suggests! Unlike most of these I suspect, he's neither had a run - two have - nor been for a visit to a racecourse for a barrier trial so he'll be green as grass. A nice one for…

25/04/21 – 2nd 2/1 – Lordsbridge Boy – William Knight – Salisbury
Lordsbridge Boy has joined us this year and has some very interesting form in the book from his previous stable. He's fit and in good nick so we're hopeful of a nice start in this handicap.

24/04/21 – 2nd 50/1 – Byron Flyer – Ian Williams – Sandown
It seems as though age is starting to catch up on Byron Flyer. On his recent form it's hard to give him much chance and the 66-1 the bookies are offering is understandable.

25/04/21 – 1st 5/2 – Younevercall – Kim Bailey – Sandown
This race two years ago was the last Younevercall won - Covid stopped last year's fixture - and he comes into it in cracking form. I think he has an excellent chance of winning it again with everything, track, ground and trip all in his favour. We need what has been a very good season…
