Ikigai Star was a nice winner at Huntingdon in May but was beaten a long way last time at Bangor. We've freshened him up since then and are hopeful of a good showing. Each-way.

Your guess is as good as mine with Catuaba. If you are thinking of backing him, wait until you see him over the first. If, as two runs back, he is at the front, he might well stay there. Conversely, if like last time he's slow and gets out the back, you know your fate.…

Two in this. Saint Riquier won well last time on only his 2nd start after a layoff. He can defy the lenient 3lb extra on his mark.

Sugarloaf Lenny did well to win at Yarmouth last time. He's up only 2lb for that but going up to 1m4f should I think bring some more improvement. Good chance with Brandon taking 5lb off.

Summergrounds has been fairly consistent with two good recent runs behind him at Market Rasen. He prefers good ground so he wouldn't want it to get too soft.

Jewel Of London goes okay at home, showing plenty of speed. I think the sharp 6f around here will suit her and I'm convinced she will run well. Chances

Luckie Seven is a decent horse and he did well to win after a long absence up here last time. Gordon's horse is all the rage but Luckie Seven will make sure it won't be a walk in the park for him

08/09/24 – 1st 4/1 – Midnight Jewel – Charlie Longsdon – Fontwell Park

This is the right race for Midnight Jewel. He has a good strike-rate on summer going and is ready after a couple of runs following almost a year off. The main hope is that the rain stays away.

Rajindri has been running well and should be competitive under her big weight. Ideally, she would have liked easier ground but she's top-rated and should run well.

Law Of Design is a proper horse, a lovely gelded son of Sotsass and he made a very promising start at Newmarket. I could have waited another week but this four-horse race looked a good opportunity. Very hopeful.

06/09/24 – 3rd 40/1 – Peter The Wolf – Warren Greatrex – Ascot

Peter the Wolf will have learnt a lot from his first run. Sticking at this trip, we should see him travel much more strongly today and finish a good deal closer.

05/09/24 – 1st 15/2 – Haliphon – Ian Williams – Haydock

Haliphon continues to go through the motions - apart from his good second at Epsom two months ago. He needs to wake his ideas up.

04/09/24 – 3rd 9/2 – Whenthedealinsdone – Roger Teal – Southwell

We gave Whenthedealinsdone a break after a busy period in the spring. He's a big horse who takes plenty of work but he should be thereabouts.

04/09/24 – 2nd 6/1 – Story Horse – William Knight – Southwell

The stretch back up to 1m6f should help Story Horse. The flat galloping Southwell AW track ought to suit him and from a good draw, he should soon be in contention. Hopeful.

Forgotten Treasure has slipped into Classified stakes after a last run under an inexperienced rider when she was very slowly away. I think she will act on the track and the ground will be fine. Chances.
