Castel Gandolfo deservedly opened his account with a smooth success at Fakenham. He has not been over-penalised for that as he starts handicapping and he must be our best prospect of the evening.

12/06/21 – 1st 5/4 – Legendary Day – Hughie Morrison – Leicester
Legendary Day is a progressive colt who won nicely on good to soft at Nottingham. There must be a slight concern about this faster ground but if he copes with it he will have an outstanding chance.

10/06/21 – 2nd 7/2 – Beat The Storm – William Knight – Yarmouth
I think we may be up against it with the Gary Moore horse who even with a penalty is well in compared with his new rating and may still be better than that. The hope is he might not stay this far and Beat The Storm, who ran his best race when third over course…

10/06/21 – 1st 4/1 – Aylesford – William Knight – Yarmouth
We've always liked Aylesford but temperamentally he's not been the easiest to train. He's a beast of a horse who I think will like the ground and six furlongs seems to be his trip. His run last year was very promising and if he repeats that he would go close.

10/06/21 – 1st 5/1 – Hesperis – Hughie Morrison – Yarmouth
As the ground is at the moment plenty of horses will be going to the races slightly jarred up and Hesperis isn't at that stage. She will appreciate the longer trip and starts handicapping on a modest mark. Hopeful rather than confident.

09/06/21 – 1st 6/4 – Mandoob – Brian Meehan – Haydock
We've been having a bit of a hiding this past week with a couple of well-fancied runners disappointing. Therefore confidence is a little low at present and I'll not make any extravagant predictions abour Mandoob except to say we think highly of him and he won very nicely first time at Lingfield.

09/06/21 – 1st 15/8 – Blue Sans – Fergal O’Brien – Fontwell Park
Small fields at Fontwell today but still it's much more likely that we will have placed horses rather than winners. Only three in Blue Sans' race but it looks very probable that another second place awaits.

08/06/21 – 1st 7/2 – Peaked Too Soon – Kim Bailey – Southwell
Peaked Too Soon had some respectable bumper form for Jamie Osborne and is a horse who loves good ground. He has taken his time to settle in and this is a good opportunity to start him off. He certainly has place chances and maybe better!

06/06/21 – 1st 8/11 – Beyond The Clouds – Charlie Longsdon – Perth
Beyond The Clouds made a very promising start to chasing in quite a hot beginners' race at Sedgefield. He drew away impressively on the run-in but Ming Dynasty now has a 6lb pull for six lengths and Brian Ellison is using a very capable 5lb claimer. Odds-on seems unappealing as the form suggsts there might…

06/06/21 – 1st 7/4 – East Asia – Ian Williams – Goodwood
East Asia's first-time-out performance at Newbury took us by surprise but stepped up to two miles he defied the penalty with ease. He has 12lb extra weight compared with Newbury back at Goodwood today and he seems to have done very well in the interim. Goes there with plenty of confidence once more.

05/06/21 – 1st 3/1 – Jarveys Plate – Fergal O’Brien – Worcester
Jarveys Plate is in great heart and has been running well back over hurdles although he wasn't given a chance when hampered last time. Weight might beat him with the favourite receiving 23lb but he should run another solid race.

05/06/21 – 1st 3/1 – Ejtilaab – Ian Williams – Epsom
Talk about over-reaction! Five non-runners in a 25 grand race at Epsom because of good to soft ground which by race time is likely to be good. Ejtilaab has been running well and while six furlongs is on the short side he is sure to be pegging them back in the closing stages.

05/06/21 – 1st 25/1 – Mokaatil – Ian Williams – Epsom
Mokaatil has won over the course and run respectably in this race in the past. He has a good draw and will enjoy any cut that remains in the ground by race time, but then Epsom drains very quickly. Small each-way chance at a big price.

04/06/21 – 3rd 16/1 – Onenightintown – Micky Hammond – Market Rasen
Onenightintown has dropped to such a low rating that even in this modest contest he is 7lb out of the weights. We had been hopeful he would win a race some time in the future but unless the visors bring about a transformation it is unlikely to be today.

04/06/21 – 1st 7/2 – High Noon – Micky Hammond – Market Rasen
High Noon put in a very polished display over the fences here last time, delighting his owner who lives locally. If he can get into the same rhythm I expect him to follow up.

04/06/21 – 1st 4/1 – Raddle And Hum – Micky Hammond – Market Rasen
Raddle And Hum ran a promising race first time back from a wind operation at Fakenham and will hopefully build on that today. she has always been quite talented and this could be the lead in to a successful summer.

03/06/21 – 3rd 7/1 – Billy The Squid – Fergal O’Brien – Ffos Las
Contrary to our initial expectations Billy The Squid has ended up as quite a consistent hurdler. He should go well again and looks a good each-way prospect.

03/06/21 – 1st 4/1 – Ernesto – Ian Williams – Uttoxeter

31/05/21 – 1st 6/4 – Merry Berry – Fergal O’Brien – Huntingdon
We are very hopeful of a big run from Merry Berry but the handicapper may have cost her the chance of a win. Going up 8lb for being beaten last time seems extremely unfair.
