Speed Company will love the ground. He's fit and well and has a nice weight. He's still a novice so I think we can have some fun with him this winter.

There are only two opponents for Jarveys Plate on his chasing debut. The ideal introduction would be a creditable third place - behind two horses who come out above him at the weights on hurdles form - and a safe clear round.

Speed Merchant ran well for a long way last time over a mile at Southwell but didn't quite get home. We're dropping him down both in class to a seller and back to six furlongs and rate him a great each-way bet today.

Lairig Ghru ran very well on debut at Pontefract. He has been improving at home but faces a big field tonight. Each-way chances.

We bought Quaint at the breeze-ups and gave her a run quite early on and she ran with some promise. She has been showing ability in her work lately and could go well today.

I seem always to be saying the same thing about Dandridge before his races. He usually runs well for most of the way but then has to be content with maybe second or third. He's become hard to win with, but one day he'll translate a place into an overdue win - hopefully today.

Dan Gun has been a disappointment on what he has been showing at home. He wasn't in great form in the summer but could show up better in this weak race. Each-way hopes.

Old Jeroboam slightly surprised us when winning both his bumpers so we are looking forward now to his hurdles career. He has plenty to learn about jumping and will have a big disadvantage in experience terms with the Nicholls horse. Hopeful rather than optimistic.

Thegallantway ran well in one of his bumpers. He has been in great form at home and jumps well. He's probably not good enough to win this but could run into a place.

Trouble Shooter has been improving with his races and was a real eye-opening coming from a long way back at Kempton last time. He remains in good form and we're hopeful he can make it five out of six.

Byron Flyer is carrying a lot of weight but his jumping was very good and accurate last time and the step up to two and a half will suit. I won't be fussed if something else is keen to make the running. It's a nice race but a tough one with all that weight.

On paper this looks a two-horse race. Yeavering Belle has decent bumper form and although she won a weak novice hurdle at Newton Abbot by the narrowest of margins she is a great deal better than that performance. The step up in trip will help and she must have a fantastic chance of winning this.

Urban Artist undoubtedly has the best public form of those to have run with her Cheltenham fourth in a valuable mares' bumper reading very well. Whether she will enjoy the sharp turns of Ludlow is another matter, but if she copes with it, she'd have to go close.

Global Tour has enjoyed a good summer and remains in excellent form at home. This race is more competitive than some he has contested recently but we are hopeful that he has an each-way chance.

Neverbeen To Paris is a hardy, tough little character who relishes his work at home. This track and trip should suit him well so we are looking forward to running him. This is his debut run for the yard so I am sure we will learn plenty about him today. We think that he will…

Song Of The Sky should have a chance. We’ve got the favourite to beat and the softer the ground the better. She’s alright and would have an each-way chance.

I have always liked this horse and was gutted when he was narrowly beaten at Ludlow on his only start. The form of the race has worked out well and as he seems a stronger horse this time I will be disappointed if he cannot improve on that last run

Both Gossip Column's wins this season have been away from Chester, but he usually goes well here too. He was slightly disappointing behind an improving three-year-old filly here last time but should run his race again.
