Burnage Boy has been very in and out on the Flat but has shown some ability. We feel he will possibly stay the trip hurdling. He has schooled very well and is working nicely so if he stays he could run a big race.

Maisie Moo had a busy first half of the year so we gave her a break. She has still been growing so that was probably a wise decision. She should run a nice race from this mark back over seven furlongs.

Cage of Fear seems to be in much better form than last season. He looks well and loves jumping. I rate this horse highly and in the absence of the probable favourite I expect him to make a serious challenge. Definite chance.

This former Yorkshire-based point-to-point winner has been pleasing us at home. Two miles will probably be too short for him but will be a good learning point. Looking at the race we'd be happy if he finished third or fourth but wouldn't be surprised if he did better than that.

Almost Gold ran well for a long way on his chase debut last time out in May. He has filled out and strengthened since then and should continue to improve with his racing. He is more than fit enough to do himself justice.

Pontresina is a horse we like but we had a little problem after his last run. He’ll love the trip and ground. We think he’s pretty fit but he’ll be sharper for the run. I’d say he has an each-way squeak.

Lilkian has a chance of reversing recent Lingfield form with Dynamighty as he lost ground when hampered early in that race. Whether he'll cope with the French-trained favourite though is questionable but he ought to make the frame, so an each-way chance.

Noble Behest has done all his winning - for his two previous stables - at two miles. Probably this trip is still on the short side.

Forbidden Dance has been running well lately. She remains in good form and has an excellent chance of going close.

Imperial Aura has done nothing wrong in his four starts. A winner and placed in bumpers, he then won his first two starts over hurdles. Speed Company will love the ground. He's fit and well and has a nice weight. He's still a novice so I think we can have some fun with him this winter.

There are only two opponents for Jarveys Plate on his chasing debut. The ideal introduction would be a creditable third place - behind two horses who come out above him at the weights on hurdles form - and a safe clear round.

Speed Merchant ran well for a long way last time over a mile at Southwell but didn't quite get home. We're dropping him down both in class to a seller and back to six furlongs and rate him a great each-way bet today.

We bought Quaint at the breeze-ups and gave her a run quite early on and she ran with some promise. She has been showing ability in her work lately and could go well today.

I seem always to be saying the same thing about Dandridge before his races. He usually runs well for most of the way but then has to be content with maybe second or third. He's become hard to win with, but one day he'll translate a place into an overdue win - hopefully today.

Dan Gun has been a disappointment on what he has been showing at home. He wasn't in great form in the summer but could show up better in this weak race. Each-way hopes.

Old Jeroboam slightly surprised us when winning both his bumpers so we are looking forward now to his hurdles career. He has plenty to learn about jumping and will have a big disadvantage in experience terms with the Nicholls horse. Hopeful rather than optimistic.
