We bought a few yearlings last autumn to run in maiden auction races and lo and behold, those races have disappeared from the Calendar. This is one of very few in which we could run Huddleton Mac and happily he's started working quite well at the right time. Hoping for a decent run on debut.

As he showed at Ascot, Sir Busker loves to run at a fast pace and he will have those ideal conditions again today. They always go a furious gallop in this historic handicap and even dropping back a furlong should not inconvenience him. He remains in great form at home and Oisin knows him well.

You can forget Fubar's last run as the ground was heavy and he is a good-ground horse. He has the ability to win this if he sees out the distance. I would have preferred two miles but there are no suitable races for him at the trip as he has a preference for going right-handed.…

Ballyhome needs to put his first chases last season behind him but in fairness the heavy ground was totally wrong for him then. He flew back into form returning to hurdles on better ground and should show his best today. Each-way chance.

Masked Identity ran his best race for some time when just denied at Kempton. The 4lb hike looks severe enough and another question is whether he will handle the ground. One clue is that he has won around Southwell!

Caius Marcius is always very effective at this time of year and made hay over fences last summer. We gave him a spin round on the all-weather a couple of weeks before lock-down, but his 140 hurdles rating means he will need to be right at his best to make an impact here. Tough task…

We have a nicely-bred horse of Olly Murphy's to beat. We can only hope that our lad is more street-wise and tougher and will be able to put it up to him. It could be a close finish!

Jamacho can be a monkey - he certainly stopped quickly on the Flat the other day - but if he can get to the front and enjoy a free run, he could go very close. He certainly has plenty of ability.

Dandys Derriere has been working very well and has a decent future. I think Mick Channon's horse, who won so well on debut at Windsor, will be hard to beat.

Puerto Banus was a good second here last time, probably starting his run from a little too far back, but then the winner is pretty useful. He deserves a change of luck, but with a decent run he should gain an overdue first win.

Lantiern has been in good form and we have been very happy with him, as he has been schooling very well over fences. We are looking forward to seeing what he can do, but it will not be an easy task to win this novice handicap under top-weight.

Despite a fall on his latest outing, Templepark is a brilliant jumper of fences. He is in great form at home and will take all the beating.

The Vollan was in great form last summer/autumn winning a couple with some excellent placed efforts too. The downside is that he went up 25lb as a result and we're hoping that trying this longer trip might eke out some more improvement and keep him competitive. He'll possibly be going chasing sooner rather than later.

La Don De Vie was bought to race in Australia and will be going there later in the year. It would be good if he could win a nice race and he ran well at Ascot without quite quickening on the ground there up the straight. I always thought he'd enjoy cut but with it…

Heart Of Soul has twice gone to the races since his promising Newmarket comeback over an inadequate trip, and has been forced to miss the races owing to drying ground. Forecast sunny conditions and strong winds are not the ideal combination to keep the going in his favour at the end of a long day,…

Mayson Mount has experience of the track on his debut last autumn and ran a much better race when fourth behind a previous winner at Newmarket on his comeback. This looks very competitive but if Josie can get him away and in a decent position he could prove an each-way proposition at rewarding odds.

Ian Williams was delighted with Harlow's comeback run at Redcar the other day where he flashed home for third after being among the back-markers for much of the race. Left on his turf mark of 64, 8lb less than all-weather, he looks set for a return to the winner's circle.

Raeed, a son of Dark Angel, shows promise at home but will benefit from this first outing of his career.

Chairmanic was just caught out for being a gallop short when mugged close home here on his comeback. I thought he was a little flat at Newmarket but that winner has bolted up again since then. Good each-way claims on a track he clearly likes.

Sebastian Beach is high enough in the ratings but is in the best shape I could have him. I believe he will be suited by the step back up to three miles - he won at the trip for his previous stable - and expect a good run today.
