Lyrical Genius won an English point and then made all nicely in a bumper at Warwick. He has schooled very well and I'm looking forward to seeing him run.

Go Pharisee Flyer has been disappointing over hurdles but he is related to some decent chasers and seems to love jumping a fence. We are opimistic this will stand him in good stead for improved performances from now on.

Checkandchallenge is going nicely at home. He is by Fast Company and makes his debut in a competitive enough maiden contest. He isn't ideally drawn but sometimes you are better off not being near the rails here as that's where the most crowding can occur. Each-way chances.

You can't get excited about Freethinker - he has ability but is not straightforward. One day he might pop up and win but I fear that could be some way off.

Bearwith has a solid chance. He was running consistently before his short break but resumes 5lb higher after finishing second here last time. He may be an ordinary horse but this is an ordinary race and he has as I said a solid chance.

If I Say faces a 1/6 shot here and the race for him will be for second place. He hasn't been brilliant over hurdles so far but we are hopeful he can follow the favourite home.

Shighness has had three runs in bumpers and could be running on up the straight with the experience behind her. She will be a two-and-a-half-mile hurdler in time.

Findthetime is a nice horse who seems to be improving. I'm not sure Sedgefield is his ideal track but hopefully he will overcome that and open his account today.

Regaby made all in determined fashion over this marathon course and distance 12 days ago. Up 4lb he can repeat the dose in similar style this afternoon.

It will be interesting to see whether Tequila Blaze, who been competing at around two and a half miles will do better going up in trip. We think three miles will really suit her in which case she would have a sound each-way chance in this mares' handicap.

Jersey Bean had an excellent season over fences last winter once equipped with blinkers, winning three and finishing in the money in the others. This horse has chaser written all over him. The Edgar Wallace has more than respectable hurdle form and providing he handles the course he should go close.

It wasn't the greatest race that Norley won last time out and the drop back in trip today is not ideal. The snag was there isn't a suitable amateurs' handicap so Norley and Beau, who is a talented young rider, take their chance here. Hopeful of another good performance. 

After a promising first run at Perth we were quite hopeful for King Of Unicorns at Carlisle but after running just behind the eventual winner he faded up the hill. Feel Like De Baune went on to win that race narrowly and he and the Crawford horse look the obvious threats.

Hidden Beauty is a gorgeous mare who goes seriously well. We are very hopeful of her chances first time out but this is a strong enough bumper and it will take a good one to win it. We hope it will be her!

Final Nudge had a brief season last winter but ran a brilliant third in the Midlands Grand National on his second of only two starts. He is not fully tuned up but needs to run here to qualify for the Veterans' Final which is his main objective.
