10/10/23 – 3rd 16/1 – Vinaka – Ali Stronge – Leicester

Vinaka has been a little disappointing in her two runs since her win at massive odds at Epsom. Ground conditions should be fine and we hope she can come back to form here.

10/10/23 – 2nd 4/1 – Charencey – Ian Williams – Leicester

Charencey starts handicapping on what looks a fair mark. I think he'll probably need a mile ideally in the future, but this stiff 7f should suit, especially if they go a good gallop. Hopeful.

10/10/23 – 1st 11/2 – Mikhailovich – Kim Bailey – Huntingdon

Mikhailovich is a baffling example of the handicap system. Having said that I hope the handicapper is right. If the clerk of the course is correct with his ground description then he has place chances.

07/10/23 – 1st 9/1 – Regal Envoy – William Knight – Wolverhampton

Regal Envoy has been running consistently well of late and it's a pity he has a wide draw here as otherwise I would have fancied him strongly. If he can avoid the typical Wolverhampton trouble at this trip, he could still be competitive but it's more an each-way hope than a confident win suggestion.

05/10/23 – 2nd 33/1 – Ellexis – Roger Teal – Chelmsford

Ellexis has been handicapping herself with slow starts in her recent runs. If she could get a better break here she might make more of an impact.

05/10/23 – 3rd 7/1 – Von Baer – Brian Meehan – Salisbury

As expected Von Baer ran well well 2nd time out at Newbury, coming up against a smart Godolphin juvenile but running a respectable 2nd. He seems good value today as he's done nothing wrong. Each-way chance again.

05/10/23 3rd 100/1 – Solar Power – Roger Teal – Salisbury

Solar Power was beaten some way behind today's favourite at Kempton and will find it hard to reverse the form. Realistically he is one for handicaps.

03/10/23 – 1st 9/1 – She’s A Rocca – Nicky Richards – Southwell

She's A Rocca won around here in the summer of last year since when she has run poorly in all her three subsequent races. There was a valid reason last time as she'd been off for almost ten months before her comeback at Bangor. She does need to start showing something or else she will…

02/10/23 – 2nd 11/2 – Whiteley Way – Roger Teal – Bath

Whiteley Way had a couple of okay runs at Newbury on fast ground before completing her qualifying runs with a 3rd on the Lingfield all-weather. She's by Sixties Icon, whose progeny usually handle soft ground and can go well off what looks a fair mark of 69 in this first handicap.

02/10/23 – 2nd 5/1 – Miss Dolly Rocker – Roger Teal – Bath

It was 33 degrees in the Kempton stables when Miss Dolly Rocker behaved badly on her last planned outing and had to be withdrawn. Otherwise, she's been very consistent and should have nothing to worry about with the temperatures today. Big chance on the balance of her very solid form.

02/10/23 – 2nd 13/2 – Beggarman – Hughie Morrison – Bath

I'll be at Bath today rather than inspecting yearlings at Tatts. I saw one bloodstock agent at Longchamp yesterday and he said that after Lidl in Ireland, it's going to be Fortnum and Mason at Newmarket. If the average at Goffs was 110 grand, imagine what you'll need to pay to buy a nice yearling!…

01/10/23 – 3rd 10/1 – Rating – Brian Meehan – Epsom

We were expecting a better run from Rating at Sandown and she duly obliged with an excellent 2nd place. Now she's got into her stride we have to be hopeful that she can take the next step and win.

27/09/23 – 3rd 12/1 – Bandit D’Ainay – Micky Hammond – Perth

Bandit D'Ainay was going to be making his final start before probable retirement last time at Cartmel but he was hampered and unseated the champion at the first fence. He had suitable ground that day and gets it again here We're giving him another chance and Hughsie is game enough to ride him once more.…

27/09/23 – 1st 6/4 – Happy Hadeda – Hughie Morrison – Kempton Park

Happy Hadeda made a promising start to her career with a good 2nd at Newbury. I think she may not love soft ground so AW may be the better option at the moment. If she handles it tonight, she clearly is the one to beat.

19/09/23 -1st 40/1 – Alcazan – Roger Teal – Yarmouth

Alcazan was the outsider of the field anyway last time in a Racing League 7f race at Wolverhampton, but from a bad outside draw she could never get in and we can forget that one. She will do better I'm sure on this straight 6f and is drawn close to the favourite. She won't mind…
