He Knows Better ran well last time on good ground. This looks an opportunity to get his head in front.

No Regrets ran very consistently all last season until running his one bad race at Musselburgh. We've given him a break and are switching from cheek-pieces first time to a visor. Each-way chances.

Jet Of Dreams won a point and was gradually improving with racing before a six-month winter break. He returned at Market Rasen where his performance attracted the attention of the stewards after he stayed on into a remote 2nd late on. That should have blown the cobwebs out.

Magical Escape won well last time but this is a tougher race, especially as he carries a 7lb penalty. He is well and deserves to go close. A big horse who will be better over fences after his summer break

Karl Philippe ran a very close 3rd over CD two weeks ago. He has plenty of weight, but he ought to be right there in the firing line once more.

Point winner Ryan's Rocket has been improving all through the year and will have his chance again in a tough novice hurdle. It's not easy to concede the weight-for-age to 4yo's at this time of year and the favourite has very solid form so will be hard to beat.

Sun God improved through last season, winning his last race at Lingfield very easily. Whether he can cope with the 9lb weight rise for that is the question. He might just need it today.

If you'd asked me a week ago I would have been optimistic about Stay Alert in this Group 2 but the last couple of runners from here have been disappointing. She's top on official ratings though and this is the right race for her. Fingers crossed.

Ambassador returns after his break in a race where four of the 11 declared runners have been taken out. That suggests the ground will be testing, not his favoured conditions - he's best on good. He might still run okay, but he has a big weight and we're taking 10lb off for Josh.

Aalto was a Longchamp winner early last summer and we held out high hopes for him when he arrived here. We've only managed to get him on the track a couple of times, and he returns here after another six-month absence, We'll be looking for a run somewhere near the action in this big field.

Royal Velvet is probably my best chance of the day. She won nicely 2nd time out over this trip at Wolverhampton and looks to be fairly weighted. She, too, is in the right race and we are very hopeful she can get the first win on her card.

Sageburg County ran well last time out and continues to go well at home. Conditions should suit and he should put in another good performance.

Wolf Prince won nicely last month at Taunton. He's been raised 7lb for that and while we hope he can make the necessary improvement, it could be a close affair.
