Pond Road is an enigma as he has never shown on the racecourse what he does at home. He certainly has the ability to run well but we have said that before every race. In the circumstances we would be delighted if he were placed.

20/02/20 1st 3/1 – Miss Honey Ryder – Warren Greatrex – Huntingdon

Miss Honey Ryder ran a lovely race last time at Wincanton and she should build on that today. The ground may be a little soft for her liking but we are still expecting a good performance.

20/02/20 3rd 13/2 – Heresmynumber – Ali Stronge – Sedgefield
After Hereford when he showed he hates jumping fences - unsurprising after a bad fall a few runs back at Fontwell required an operation on his face - I will be keeping Heresmynumber to hurdles. He ran well in one back at Fontwell before Hereford and he is one of the few in this race…

20/02/20 1st 6/1 – Roxyfet – Micky Hammond – Sedgefield

Roxyfet has bounced back well from his last run, when he was found to have an irregular heartbeat. This happened once before a few years ago and since the latest run he has had all the tests which have shown it isn’t a permanent issue. Therefore we are hopeful he can find his form again…

19/02/20 3rd 7/2 – Rhosneigr – Kim Bailey – Ludlow

This decent Flat performer was disappointing first time over jumps but then came to win his race last time at Wincanton, finishing a close second at 50/1. A repeat of that run would take him very close indeed. On form I believe Rhosneigr has one to beat.

19/02/20 3rd 5/2 – Central City – Ian Williams – Newcastle

Central City ran his best race for a while when second at Wolverhampton. He runs on a similar surface today and the galloping track will suit him better than Dunstall Park. Good chance.

19/02/20 3rd 20/1 – Carlow Farmer – Charlie Longsdon – Doncaster

Carlow Farmer ran well on debut for us and will improve a good deal for the experience. This is a decent race, though, and if he finishes in the first four or five I'll be delighted.

19/02/20 1st 33/1 – The Macon Lugnatic – Ben Pauling – Doncaster

The Macon Lugnatic had good form last year but had a problem with his shoulder at Leicester and had to be pulled up. If anywhere near the old form he'll run a nice race but he's unlikely to be winning yet.

19/02/20 1st 7/1 – Shah An Shah – Charlie Longsdon – Doncaster

Shah An Shah will be a nice staying chaser next season and he's made great strides in a short time this term. If he can win a hurdle it will be a bonus, and the way he ran last time, going another half mile, he could go close today. Certainly an each-way candidate.

19/02/20 2nd 3/1 – The Edgar Wallace – Kim Bailey – Doncaster

The Edgar Wallace, a stunning son of Flemensfirth, was a shade unlucky on his only previous start at Exeter. He ran a blinder and we felt he should have won. That form has been boosted, so while this looks a good race on paper he should go very close.

19/02/20 3rd 12/1 – Ballybegg – Warren Greatrex – Doncaster
Ballybeg has had lots of experience pointing and should put that to good use. He has been working well at home and certainly holds an each-way claim.

19/02/20 2nd 3/1 – Silver Kayf – Kim Bailey – Ludlow

This lovely-looking grey has gradually come down the handicap. He ran well last time and has won on this track. Place chances and possibly better if it goes his way.

18/02/20 2nd 5/2 – Duke Of Navan – Nicky Richards – Musselburgh

Duke Of Navan ran his best race for some time when third at Doncaster. He is getting some assistance from the handicapper and has a good chance today.

17/02/20 2nd 25/1 – Sarim – Warren Greatrex – Kempton Park

A competitive-looking race, but Sarim has come on for his last run and we think the step up in trip will help him.

15/02/20 2nd 4/1 – Shaffire – Harry Whittington – Lingfield Park

We stepped Shaffire up to a mile when she joined us last year and she was unlucky not to win last time. A strong finisher, if she can get a decent start from the inside draw, she will be hard to beat on these terms.

15/02/20 2nd 9/2 – Two For Gold – Kim Bailey – Ascot

This is a hugely-competitive race with six runners who all probably have a good reason to run. This in quality terms is a big step for Two For Gold, a very likable horse who on paper ought to finish fourth. We think he will go far closer than that and give him a great chance…

15/02/20 1st 7/4 – Emitom – Warren Greatrex – Haydock
Emitom was ring-rusty last time out having come back from a minor setback. He has been doing plenty of schooling to get him sharp and shouldn’t be far away.

15/02/20 2nd 9/1 – Thegallantway – Fergal O’Brien – Ascot

Thegallantway is very consistent and in great form at home. He may well prefer conditions to be a bit better than this but he is still a good each-way bet.

14/02/20 1st 4/7 – Estrela Star – Ali Stronge – Lingfield Park

Estrela Star has been very progressive the last couple of runs. We're sending him out quickly again with a double penalty before he gets re-handicapped. As long as he can take three quick runs he ought to be very hard to beat.

14/02/20 1st EVENS – Emraan – Ian Williams – Lingfield Park

I was surprised when Emraan won so impressively first time but it may not have been the greatest of races. He's improved since and he definitely should have benefited from the experience. It will be interesting to see if he can take the step up in class. I'm hopeful he can.
