Amberose is a pretty consistent mare who usually runs her race, albeit at a fairly low level. Each-way chances today.

We've only had Mini Milk for around a month but she's been working up a storm, certainly better than anything she's shown previously. I've dropped her back in trip and reckon she is certainly worth a small bet at the available odds.

Kapsize has been extremely disappointing since coming over from France but there was some encouragement in his latest run at Bangor although once beaten he weakened rapidly. Down another 5lb he could be given a chance seeing that he started here 30lb higher!

Legendary Day ran a very promising race when fourth on debut at Chelmsford, finishing strongly all the way up the straight. He will know more about it today and has improved at home since then, so we're very hopeful, although I hope we're not running too soon after that debut.

Vivas won around here a year ago over the same distance after a break. Back to that winning mark and again after a layoff since Cheltenham, he has to have a good each-way chance.

Vino Victrix makes his debut today and is at a similar stage that Legendary Day was before his opener at Chelmsford. We like him, but he will probably be very green and may be run off his feet early on. For the future he's more a mile and a horse, but if he gets in…

The Retriever has shown his best form at Southwell so we'll be looking to go there later in the year. He also has form here, but as like today when the track dries out, it takes much more getting than when it's slick after rain. The Retriever could well struggle to stay the mile under…

Northern Bound showed a pleasing aptitude for chasing on debut at Uttoxeter and was unlucky to run into an improver who has followed up since. Off the same mark today we fancy him strongly to go one better and he's in fantastic form at home.

Templepark is back in a highly-competitive chase after a brilliant summer of novice hurdles. He remains in good form and is very fit so should go close. Excellent each-way chances.

Sulochana has taken time to come to hand but showed at Bath last time when second to an easy winner that she is going the right way. If she can handle the track I expect her to run well and possibly go close.

Decisive Edge is a lovely horse. He ran a promising race at Kempton showing excellent speed before tiring in the closing stages. My only concern today is the draw but hopefully he should overcome that.

Kingbrook ran a blinder at Sandown on his stable debut and first run for almost a year. With just a little  improvement on that performance he should be very competitive in this high-class handicap. Monjeni was third in this race two years ago. He's 2lb lower now having had a quiet summer over shorter. Could figure here as he's a capable staying handicapper on his day.

She's A Novelty had a nice experience first time over hurdles. She hated the soft ground that day so will be put into the race more today and we are hopeful we will see more from her this time. Each-way chances.

The Bull McCabe is a lovely-looking son of Yeats and was never right last winter. The track is probably too tight for him but we need to get him going and this good ground is important. This will be an ideal starting-point for his season and we hope he will be placed.

Lady Jane P is a lovely mare who goes really well. She is ready for today but it's always hard to know what the opposition is capable of. Each-way chances.

Noble Behest ran well stepped up in trip last time over the course and distance. This could be a close race between three of them and he is one of the obvious contenders.

Wild Flower won nicely at Chepstow and has only a 4lb penalty. She goes on good to firm but Yarmouth could be even faster as they haven't watered overnight and there was a course record for five furlongs there yesterday. If she runs well she could turn out again at Wolverhampton on Saturday.

Bailarico is now back to a winning mark. The track and ground will suit and we are hopeful he won’t be far away today.

Kiruna Peak remains in great form after her win last time at Southwell. She could go close again but this is a more competitive event than last time. Each-way chances.
