Speedo Boy won this race three years ago. It was his last win on the level with 17 subsequent defeats and he is the grand total of 6lb lower! He's in good form and should put up a decent run, as has been the case the last twice.

Although Glorious Spirit was a beaten favourite on debut he wasn't especially strongly fancied it's just that our horses often do attract attention first time out. Estrela Star comes here off a better run last time and now drops into an amateurs' race over a shorter trip. That might not be ideal but he has a handy weight and should enjoy Newbury. Each-way chance.

Hopefully I have found the right race for Myboymax, who stayed on well last time up the long Nottingham straight and Yarmouth is very similar. Races of this nature are difficult to find and this bargain buy has to go very close today.

Rintulla has more experience over fences than our other runner in this race. He ran better last time and could be competitive if he runs up to his best.

Exceedingly Regal goes nicely. He ran well on his return at Salisbury so his subsequent Haydock effort was a big disappointment. I think he will like the all-weather and he could run into a place in an ordinary-looking 0-80 handicap.

One Small Step was staying on at the finish of her latest race and that should have brought her to peak fitness. That run suggested a mile and a quarter would suit her and I am hopeful she can successfully concede the weight to the three-year-olds.

You wouldn't find many more consistent chasers than Templepark for whom today's trip and ground are ideal. I have to say after a wind-op he looks available at a surprisingly big price and represents great each-way value.

This is a considerably weaker race than the one at Stratford in which Renardeau made a promising debut in fifth. He will have improved since then and looks a good value each-way chance against some under-achievers.
