Stormin Norman is not over big but he has schooled nicely at home and Becky knows him well, having partnered him to an emphatic success at Catterick last month. He stays very well so should be suited to hurdling, but if he didn't take to it, he'd still have a future as a staying handicapper…

07/10/20 1st 7/2 – Jersey Lady – Oliver Sherwood – Ludlow
Jersey Lady is a lovely-looking mare by Martaline. She goes well on the gallops and although stoutly-bred she doesn't lack speed. Interesting on debut.

04/10/20 1st 15/2 – Sirobbie – Harry Whittington – Uttoxeter
Hopefully we can get Sirobbie's season back on track, in what looks a competitive affair. He has been in good form at home so hopefully he has a chance back over hurdles on his favourite course.

04/10/20 1st 11/2 – Hurricane Harvey – Fergal O’Brien – Uttoxeter
Hurricane Harvey hasn’t impressed with his jumping of fences at home but he will go better in the race. There are some extremely nice types in here so we will be happy with a solid round of jumping and hopefully a place.

03/10/20 1st 2/1 – Beyond The Pale – Fergal O’Brien – Fontwell Park
Beyond The Pale is fit and in very good form at home. He has taken very well to jumping and while the ground might not be ideal it will be wet rather than holding. We are expecting a good run on debut.

03/10/20 1st 11/8 – Urban Artist – Hughie Morrison – Newmarket
Urban Artist just cannot put on any weight and when you see her she looks like a lurcher. Obviously, though, she is ultra-reliable and even with the 8lb rise is the one to beat if in the same form as last time at Goodwood.

02/10/20 2nd 15/2 – Matewan – Ian Williams – Newcastle
Matewan has been out of luck in recent starts on turf but returns to the scene of his last win back in January. He was a winner over course and distance off today's mark of 79 that day and I expect a decent showing under the talented Megan Nicholls.

02/10/20 1st 13/8 – Raaeq – Brian Meehan – Ascot
Raaeq is a very progressive three-year-old and I think he can cope with his latest increase. My worry is the ground - if it got too testing I might decide against running him.

02/10/20 1st 6/5 – Coolanly – Fergal O’Brien – Fontwell Park
Coolanly has experience over fences and was a more than decent hurdler. He is in great form at home and should go very close on this seasonal return.

01/10/20 3rd 22/1 – Percys Pride – William Knight – Salisbury
Percy's Pride, a daughter of Sir Percy, goes okay. She will probably be better over a mile but could reward small each-way support.

30/09/20 3rd 4/1 – Thibault – Kim Bailey – Huntingdon
Thibault found the ground too soft last time at Uttoxeter. He is a genuine fast-ground horse so should enjoy conditions today. On his Southwell run he has a good chance of being placed or better under new jockey Harry Cobden.

30/09/20 2nd 12/1 – Maninsane – Charlie Longsdon – Bangor
Maninsane won his bumper nicely at Stratford. He's drawn the tough division here but that's the way it is. He jumps well and I'm looking forward to seeing him run.

30/09/20 1st 9/2 – Chazza – Kim Bailey – Bangor
Chazza fell when in front three hurdles out at Newton Abbot on his return, and this is very much needed as a confidence-booster. He is more of a chaser than a hurdler, so place chances today.

30/09/20 1st 16/1 – Mokaatil – Ian Williams – Nottingham
Mokaatil is going the right way in the handicap and is a few pounds lower than when he last won in the summer of 2019. Richard is unwell so we'll need to find a suitable replacement, and whoever gets the call could have a pleasant surprise if all goes to plan.

30/09/20 1st 9/4 – Almost Gold – Ian Williams – Huntingdon
Almost Gold was very disappointing last time at Hexham when the ground had probably gone too soft for him. This trip and track suits him and I'm expecting a much better showing now.
