The Mighty Arc ran very well when a 50-1 shot on debut at Chepstow finishing third. He was a bit sick after that race so we've given him plenty of time and he's fine now. Hopefully if he can progress as he should from that he would have a decent chance.

This lovely horse has shown a really good line of form. He has had a wind-op since his last run and that should help. This is a tough contest with three horses roughly on the same mark. We are very hopeful of a very good run from The Edgar Wallace.

Saint Dalina is a tough mare who never runs a bad race. She's been thereabouts in some highly-competitive handicaps at the trip this season and I see no reason why she won't be in at the finish today.

I think Whatsupwithyou is vastly over-priced. He's a lovely horse who handles the track well and was a little unlucky not to win around here two runs back. Should be there or thereabouts.

We're feeling our way with Kildrum who scoped dirty after Wetherby at Christmas so we gave him a break. We learnt nothing from that run so today will be more informative.

Imperial Hope is an Irish point winner but in a race where only two finished. We bought him at a sale the day after and then he came straight to Lambourn looking when he arrived like a hat-rack. In his work he comes to life when galloping upsides so I'm looking forward to running him…

Gangster has been inconsistent lately but has dropped a long way in the weights - he's 14lb lower than when winning at Musselburgh just over a year ago. He stays well and if things go right for him he looks to be on a winning mark.

I was delighted Guetapan Collonges won last time at Huntingdon. I was hoping the step in trip would help and so it proved. He's up 6lb today but remains in good form and has chances of following up.

Elham Valley took on smart juveniles in two small fields since winning on hurdles debut at Sandown. The handicapper has not been hard on him and at 66-1 he could be worth a small each-way interest.

Getaway Jewel has been consistent and gradually improving in his races. I think he has a big chance today although I would have been even happier had Charlie Longsdon's horse not been in the field. Can go close.

We've seen enough of I'm Wiser Now, in hurdles before and now in two hunter chases to know that he doesn't quicken on soft ground. Unless it dries out before this race he may again have to be content with another finish in the frame.

Parramount has run well on both his starts in bumpers. He's had a nice break and if he runs up to that earlier form he would have a decent chance.

We were expecting a better run from Ernesto at Doncaster last time and while beaten some way, he was a promising third in a decent novice event. He should take another step forward and has place possibilities again today.

Mokaatil has his first run back since the autumn. The worry is that he might not be quite at his best against these good handicappers. He has plenty of ability although he has yet to win on all-weather.

Flirtatious Girl  has won her bumper and been second to today's favourite. It is a mighty tough race and she will do well to be placed but she's very game and I very much hope she will. There are plenty of smart mares in this bumper with chances.

Henschke has his first run in a handicap today. He will still come on for the experience but it will be informative to see how he runs in this grade.

Kangaroo Point is up 6lb for last Saturday's easy Southwell win and like The Rutland Rebel is an improver going for a hat-trick. We've freshened up Quoteline Direct since his last disappointing run and he's now going really well. He's shown a liking for the track over a mile and a half but I'm still convinced he has the speed for this shorter trip. Good each-way prospect.
